Meeting Minutes

 

 

PRESENT: Jim Schull, Jim Schwab, Kathleen Fish, Sharon Zielinski, Hanten Day, Kay Pendleton

 

ABSENT: Richard Van Orman, Daniel Hays, Marisa Newnam

 

Minutes: Reading of the minutes was postponed until the next meeting as not all members had received / read them.

 

Financial Report: No change.  Account balance remains at $12,644.50.  There are no further legal fees at this time.

 

President’s Report:  None at this time as Richard Van Orman is recuperating from surgery.

 

Unfinished Business:

 The agreement between MWVCOG  and MCDC needs only Marisa’s signature for completion.  The agreement was adopted; Marisa will sign and deliver to MVCOG.

 

Committees:

 

1)     No Finance & Budget report.

 

2)     Cultural Inventory / website update: New photos have been added to the website.

 

3)     PR & Communication: Kathleen says that the committee needs to regroup before the next grant cycle for a comprehensive plan.  No Art Fair update due to Richard’s absence.

 

4)     Grants: Thirteen applications were received.

Moved / seconded to decline Willamette School of Education as it is not a non-profit.  There is a question about the appropriateness of the groups with 501

(c) 4, 13 status.  Kathleen will research and report at the next meeting.  Kay will email thank you / information about missing information to the applicants.

 

Other Business: Kathleen will schedule a meeting with the Statesman-Journal for after May 20 for a news story on the grants and the need for new board members.
